Working with the CCSM
Forms of Industry Collaboration
CCSM faculty have a long and impressive record of interacting with
industry. In the last dozen years, the CCSM has collaborated with and
transferred technology to more than 60 companies. The CCSM has an array
of flexible programs for interaction with industry, including personnel
exchanges, industrial mentorships, business partnerships, and strategic
alliances. This participation provides a timely transfer of knowledge
and technology to industry. The Center places more than half of its
doctoral graduates in jobs with U. S. industry, and current CCSM
students participate in industrial research internships throughout the
year. The Center welcomes industry scientists and engineers as
researchers-in-residence in its labs. Center faculty and students
collaborate with their industry colleagues and regularly publish their
collaborative research results in peer-reviewed journals.
The CCSM relies on a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), which has been
a key industrial resource for the Center, providing guidance and
endorsement in formulating its research plans.
Student Information
Students interested in pursuing a master's or doctoral degree through
the CCSM must apply to a specific department. CCSM affiliate

Students may obtain an application for admission to graduate study by
contacting the department of their choice directly. Regardless of which
department a student applies to, all applications will require a
